French wine fosters connection

Connection has always been a core value of mine.

The process of connecting - whether with people or a place - is a  fundamental element that grounds us in our environment and helps shapes our life experience.

When I started traveling to France to visit with the  family-owned wineries I was representing as a US importer, it became apparent that my ability to connect with the people and places behind the wines was integral to effectively sharing the stories of these wines - and the deeper meaning behind them.

French wine travel is an invitation into the culture, values, and rhythm of a region, and tasting wine in its place of origin - seeing where the grapes are grown and understanding how the wine is made - fosters a lasting connection to the places and people who craft each bottle.

1) In France, this connection is bolstered by heritage -  an inherent bond between the vigneron(ne) and their vines - and plays an important role in how the vineyard is farmed and the wine made. Observing) this approach slows us down, opening space for contemplation and new ways of connecting not only with ourselves, but others.

2) France offers us the opportunity to explore; taste; move at a slower pace.

3) France links us to a way of life that values tradition, honors heritage, and understands the value of patience - all bringing us back to the beauty of an experience rooted in a shared connection (ideally over a bottle of wine overlooking the sprawling vineyards of your preferred French wine region ;)

I look forward to sharing all of this with you.

Kristin
